Windows Movie maker Problems- Edit Your Movies Online - Using Youtube Video Editor

Windows Movie maker  problems.

What is the number one problem with windows movie maker? No sound in movie maker, especially for  persons  who have windows 7 and 8 operating system.

You can permanently solve this problem by using Youtube new video editing program.
This online video editor is pretty cool.

It has most of the main editing features similar to Windows Movie Maker.

How and where do I find it?

To get to the video editor on Youtube to need to click on your Profile or channel Icon (upper right). Next click on the creator studio button and you taken an area that has all your Youtube applications. The last application -Create- click on that. See Screen shots below.

Choose the 2nd option -Video Editor> look at the arrow.

The Editing Features.

On the Navigation bar  there are at least 6 different editing features to choose from.
They are:

• Select a movie
• Get free movie or music by using creative commons license (cc)
• Add picture/s
• Add Music
• Add Transitition
• Add either a title or a banner

To Add a Movie just move it from its location and drag it to the timeline below (lower left) 

To add a Transition option -click on the transition icon and when it opens just select a transition effect that you like, and then drag it to the timeline too.

You do the same for the add a title or banner option.

Cutting or Splitting a Video

Cutting or splitting a video is done similar to other movie editor.

A) After you drag a movie to the timeline, you need to open it or lengthen it before cutting.

B)You do this by using a small horizontal scroll bar -located in the lower right on the screen.

When you drag the scroll bar all the way to the right, it lengthen the movie- which mean it will show all the frames. To take the movie back to its  previous size drag the scroll all the to the left, it is now reset.

To cut out a portion  from the movie anywhere on the timeline- you need to first select the area to be cut out. Just use the cutter -the blue  vertical thin scroll line with a scissors attach (see image above).
Next  use the lower  horizontal scroll bar to find the area to be cut. You will see a white area above the frame with a 'X' beside and the word 'remove clip. When you click on the X that is when the frame is cut out.

Additionally, you can add more than one movie to the timeline at the same time.  You can also, link all these movies together in seamless way by using a transition effect between each movie clip that you add to the timeline.

Adding Music

Many people like to add music at the start of a movie (intro) and may want add an outro at the end. On the timeline the second option is for adding music.

And before I forget, whenever you drag a movie to the timeline another editing screen will automatically come up. See screen shot.

This screen have some quick fixes, like to pan and zoom, stabilize, or rotate a movie. If you do not need to do any of that you can exit  or close this screen by clicking on the 'X' in the upper right, you will be taken back to the main editing screen.

Create Video?

If you add more than one movies together, and in addition add picture, music etc., you will need to give this new group of movies a new name. In the upper right click on  'the Create Video button' and then just follow the screen information. (see the image again)

Finally, before you upload your movies to Youtube for editing, make sure the video is in mp4 format. You can use this free online video converter  found at http://convert-video-online.com to convert your moives before uploading them to Youtube..
